Brits dominate Golden Globes 2025 nominations with Wicked’s Cynthia Erivo, Kate Winslet & Eddie Redmayne getting nods

BRITISH stars are set to ­dominate Hollywood’s 2025 Golden Globes after picking up a flurry of ­nominations yesterday.

Kate Winslet led a list of home-grown talent shortlisted for gongs.

Eddie Redmayne, 42, got a nod for Sky Atlantic’s Day Of The Jackal[/caption]

The 49-year-old is up for Best Actress in a film drama for Lee and Best TV Actress in a limited series for The Regime.

Eddie Redmayne, 42, got a nod for his role as an assassin in Sky Atlantic’s The Day Of The Jackal, while Keira Knightley has been recognised for Netflix spy series Black Doves.

Baby Reindeer has three nominations, including Best TV Actor in a miniseries for Richard Gadd as well as Best Actress for Jessica Gunning, who plays stalker Martha.

Fellow Brits Hugh Grant, Ralph Fiennes, Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton and former 007 Daniel Craig are also on the list.

So too are Gary Oldman and Jack Lowden for Apple TV+ spy thriller Slow Horses. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl has been nominated for Best Animated Motion Picture.

Cynthia Erivo is up for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture for her role as Elphaba in fantasy smash Wicked.

 Singer Robbie Williams got his first Golden Globes nomination thanks to his track Forbidden Road, from biopic Better Man, being put up for Best Original Song.

He thanked the film’s director and his co-writers, telling The Sun: “This is an incredible honour.

“This really means the world to me and I’m humbled to be included among the other brilliant nominees.” Irish actors Colin Farrell and Andrew Scott are also among those up for awards.

Hollywood heavyweights to miss out include Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga for Joker: Folie à Deux, while Pamela Anderson got her first ever nomination, as best film drama actress for The Last Showgirl.

Meanwhile Emilia Pérez, a film about a Mexican lawyer who helps a cartel boss retire and transition into a woman, picked up ten nominations — the most ever for a musical or comedy.

The Golden Globes ceremony take place in Los Angeles on January 5.
